Clayton & Company

A fresh take on project management.

Clayton & Co. is a project management company that specializes in residential renovations and construction. They operate in Toronto, facilitating and improving projects and acting as an expert liaison between homeowners and contractors.

Clayton & Co. started with an astute industry veteran, Margot Clayton, wanting to start a business of her own. She came to us with her idea and wanted us to create her a brand identity and digital presence. We, of course, obliged.

Building around the right audience.

Margot’s target market consisted of mature homeowners and busy contractors. In other words, people who valued timeliness, quality, and expertise above all else. Her brand needed to reflect this, so we created her a brand book that outlined sophistication, elegance, competence, and luxury as core qualities.

Designing the exterior.

The visual aspects of Clayton & Co. were made to appeal to the brand’s target customers. That’s why we chose a colour palette centered on a rich blue and gold, reflecting an established, upscale company.

We also designed her a logo using Serif fonts, communicating a more official, knowledgeable, and professional brand.

Constructing brand collateral.

Taking our selected colours, logos, and fonts, we designed everything Margot would need in terms of collateral. This included business cards, a letterhead, and a 130-page industry document.

Opening the doors on a website and portfolio.

Our final task was to build Margot a website. We did wireframing, information architecture, design, and development for a website that displayed Margot’s past work and attracted potential clients.

Like the rest of her brand, the website had to be clean, high-end, responsive, modern, and professional.

The outcome.

Margot was able to officially launch her business, Clayton & Co., after we created her brand and digital presence. She now has a long list of clients, a polished brand that resonates with her audience, and a website to show her portfolio online and acquire new business.
